According to AL.com, progress is evident on the first segment of the Northern Beltline between Highway 75 and Highway 79. During a recent tour of the construction site, reporters learned that contractors are preparing the surrounding landscape so that the road can be built.
This work has included cutting into hillside, navigating and preserving Self Creek and implementing erosion control measures. Throughout the project, approximately 2.5 million cubic yards of dirt, rock and other materials will be moved.
