ALDOT Site Visit | Construction Progress Photos

Members of the Alabama Department of Transportation’s (ALDOT) communications team recently visited the Northern Beltline construction site to check in on its progress. During their visit, they captured several detailed photos of the project.

As we have learned from our supporters over the years, it is incredibly valuable to see the ongoing progress of the Beltline. With that in mind, we wanted to take a moment to share a few of the pictures taken by the ALDOT team. Below you will find four great photos highlighting several aspects of the project, including the impressive soil nail walls. This innovative construction technique allows the safe steepening of new or existing soil slopes. When looking at the photos, it is impossible to ignore the fact that the “Road to Jobs” is moving forward!

If you are interested in learning more about the progress of Beltline construction, we encourage you to explore the fall 2015 edition of the Alabama Road Builders Association’s publication entitled, “The Alabama Roadbuilder” for a comprehensive update. The article provides a few key updates on the project and highlights the impressive amount of work that has been contributed by the Beltline’s supporters over the past several years.

We still have work to do on the “Road to Jobs,” but there is no doubt that significant progress has been made in recent months.

We encourage you to stay connected with us as we continue to share information and advocate for surface-transportation projects throughout the Birmingham area.
